CURRICULAR GOALS AND ORGANIZATION, AND FACULTY AND STUDENT LIFE ARE EXAMINED AGAINST THE BACKGROUND OF POLITICAL, ECONOMIC, RELIGIOUS, SOCIAL AND INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENTS IN AMERICAN CULTURE.
