Dr. Mary Margaret Kerr is one of five Pitt faculty to receive the 2011 Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award. The Chancellor recognized her for "her use of a real-world approach to classroom teaching and for her "innovative curricula." He also noted that "You are training future teachers both to identify troubled students and to help those students progress with effective behavioral interventions. As is clear from your student evaluations, your teaching provokes, challenges, and educates students while also providing a firm theoretical foundation that will remain an important asset throughout their careers."
