Falk Laboratory School Named Among Best Places to Work in Pittsburgh

Published on 10/29/2012 6:00:00 AM

The Falk Laboratory School, a K–8 school affiliated with the School of Education at the University of Pittsburgh, announced that it was selected as one of the “Top Workplaces in Pittsburgh” by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, which released its list on October 25. The program was set up to recognize companies that have a great workplace and to encourage all organizations to improve the quality of their workplace.

An employee at Falk gave the following quote about their experience at the school: "I am respected and valued for who I am and what I do. My colleagues are kind and caring. Staff members are supportive and awesome. These kinds of workplaces are rare and I feel blessed."

More than 700 companies, with at least 50 workers, were invited to participate in the Post-Gazette's search for the region's top places to work. 85 businesses were declared finalists and considered for awards among large (500 or more employees), midsize (150-499), and small (50-149). Companies that scored well enough to make the list had at least 70 percent of their workers agree with statements such as: "This company operates by strong ethics and values," "I have confidence in the leader of this company," "My manager listens to me" and "I believe this company is going in the right direction." The Falk School was listed as number 20 among the small companies.
