Western Pa Writing Project Hosting Digital Education Conference at the Falk School

In partnership with the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Education and Falk Laboratory School, the Western Pa Writing Project is hosting a Digital Literacy and Education conference on November 12, 2011. The one-day event is designed to ignite conversations about teaching and learning in the age of 21st-century literacies.

“We’re pleased to invite educators, students, parents, youth workers, and community stakeholders to join us for a day of inquiry, play, critical engagement, and discussion,” says Western Pa Writing Project Director Matthew Luskey.

Conference features include:
  • A Digital Maker Faire
  • Keynote address by Sara Kajder on “Creating a Space to Play and Learn with Digital Technologies”
  • Teacher and youth collaborations
  • Exhibits of innovative technologies for the classroom
  • Workshops on podcasting, social media and rhetoric, copyright clarity, and writing with tech tools
