In partnership with the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Education and Falk Laboratory School, the Western Pa Writing Project is hosting a Digital Literacy and Education conference on November 12, 2011. The one-day event is designed to ignite conversations about teaching and learning in the age of 21st-century literacies.
“We’re pleased to invite educators, students, parents, youth workers, and community stakeholders to join us for a day of inquiry, play, critical engagement, and discussion,” says Western Pa Writing Project Director Matthew Luskey.
Conference features include:
- A Digital Maker Faire
- Keynote address by Sara Kajder on “Creating a Space to Play and Learn with Digital Technologies”
- Teacher and youth collaborations
- Exhibits of innovative technologies for the classroom
- Workshops on podcasting, social media and rhetoric, copyright clarity, and writing with tech tools
