University of Pittsburgh doctoral student and North Hills School District Administrator Jeff Taylor recently was selected by the Pennsylvania Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (PASCD) to receive its 2011 Supervision and Curriculum Development Award. PASCD will honor Taylor on November 22, 2011, during its annual conference in Hershey, Pa.
PASCD is an organization committed to the improvement of curriculum development, supervision, and instruction, along with promoting professional growth and education of children. It presents the award to a member who has “made a significant contribution in the area of supervision and/or curriculum development.”
Taylor is specializing in School Leadership in the School of Education’s Department of Administrative and Policy Studies (ADMPS), where he’ll be defending his dissertation this December. He’s currently the Director of Curriculum and Assessment for the North Hills School District, where he heads its assessment program, curriculum development, and data analysis of student achievement.
Last year, Taylor was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award from blendedschools.net, and in 2008 was given the Robert V. Flynn Memorial Distinguished Service Award from PASCD.
