The Institute for International Studies in Education (IISE) will be holding its inaugural awards ceremony, along with a launch of its
Pittsburgh Studies in Comparative and International Education (PSCIE) book series, on Wednesday, February 15.

At the event, IISE will honor 2010 and 2011 award recipients with the Lifetime Contribution Award, the Best Dissertation Award, and the Best Article Award. The institute will also pay tribute to the late Professor Rolland G. Paulston (1929-2006) through introducing the inaugural volume in the
PSCIE series,
Beyond the Comparative: Advancing Theory and Its Application to Practice, which celebrates and expands on his life's work.
Recognized as a stalwart in the field of comparative and international education, Paulston’s most widely recognized contribution is in social cartography.
PSCIE series editors and School of Education professors, John C. Weidman and W. James Jacob, brought together 35 contributors representing a range of senior and junior scholars from various comparative, international and development education backgrounds, who, while honoring Paulston, address issues, perspectives, and approaches related to charting the future course of the field.
