Published on 10/1/2012 7:00:00 AM

The Institute for International Studies in Education (IISE) is hosting this year's International Workshop on Higher Education Reform (HER) at the University of Pittsburgh from October 10-12, 2012. This will be the first time the event is being held in the United States; previous workshop locations included Vancouver, Vienna, Tokyo, Dublin, Shanghai, Mexico City, and Berlin.

The theme for the 2012 HER Workshop—Reforming the Policy and Practice of Community Engagement of Higher Education—was conceptualized with the intent to attract many interesting proposals and a lively debate. More information is available at the workshop Web site or from the workshop flyer. The workshop is open to the public and information on how to register is found at www.iise.pitt.edu/her9.

The workshop is co-sponsored by the Comparative and International Education Society Higher Education Special Interest Group; Canadian Society for the Study of Higher Education; Centre for Policy Studies in Higher Education and Training, University of British Columbia at Vancouver, Canada; Asian Education and Development Studies Research Consortium, Hong Kong Institute of Education, China; PASCAL International Observatory; and the University of Pittsburgh European Union Center for Excellence.

Any questions can be forwarded to IISE Director and 2012 HER Workshop Chair, James Jacob, at wjacob@pitt.edu, or HER Workshop Coordinator, Huiyuan Ye, at huy10@pitt.edu.
