Choices of additional courses are based in the career goals and background of the student. Advanced courses are available in Learning Disabilities, Early Childhood, Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing, Vision Studies, Sensory and Physical Differences, Behavioral and Cognitive Differences, Psychoeducational Assessment. Group Designs in Special Education, and Applied Behavior Analysis.

Collateral Field Studies (15-18 credits)

Dept Course Title Credits
Students complete a cluster of related courses dealing with a theme, study area, or topic supportive of the student's professional emphasis. A majority of the credits must be from outside the student's major field program area. 15-18

Research Methodology (12 credits)

Dept Course Title Credits
EdD candidates must complete a minimum of 12 credits in advanced research and/or evaluation methodology courses that will enable them to read, understand and design research. These courses must be selected from a list of courses approved by the School of Education. 12

Supervised Practicum (6 credits)

Applied practicum experiences in curriculum supervision, college teaching, and/or research in collaboration with a faculty mentor. 6
