Mathematics Education - Doctor of Education (EdD)
The EdD degree with specialization in Mathematics Education emphasizes the development of scholarly attainment in the theory, research, and practice of mathematics education. Graduates of this program are prepared to be leaders in schools, universities, or other settings in which mathematics education takes place. They may assume roles as mathematics teacher educators at colleges and universities, department heads and curriculum leaders in school districts, mathematics faculty in colleges and
universities, or mathematics instructional or learning specialists in non- school settings. Irrespective of this final role, graduates are expected to be knowledgeable in the teaching and learning of mathematics across many contexts, to be skilled as teachers and teacher educators, and to demonstrate an on-going commitment to the study of mathematics teaching and learning for the continuing improvement of instruction.
