Area 1: Major Field
A 30 credit concentration in one of the following Social Science areas: Anthropology, Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology, or Sociology

Area 3: History Survey Courses
Six credits of History Survey coursework is required. These courses should cover broad periods of time. For example, History of Western Civilization I or II, History of the United States to 1865, History of the United States from 1865 to Present, History of Medieval Europe, etc. These courses could overlay with coursework in Areas 1 and/or 2.
