Co-Director of the Clarion University of Pennsylvania site of the LEADERS project, Dr. Poljanec has been a classroom teacher, a reading specialist and a full time academic advisor. She is currently Chair of the Clarion University of Pennsylvania Education Department and teaches graduate and undergraduate reading courses. She is active in educational organizations and provides instruction for America Reads tutors. Her interests include emergent literacy, brain research, reading specialist preparation and elementary reading instruction.

Dr. Vickie Harry is the Co-Director of the LEADERS project at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. She has been a classroom teacher, and currently she teaches undergraduate and graduate students in the teacher education program at Clarion. Her position at Clarion is described as an Elementary Generalist, teaching courses in mathematics and science courses as well as grant-related specialty courses.

Maria Denicola served as a Graduate Assistant for the LEADERS project at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, providing support and coordination for the Clarion project site. She has experience as a substitute teacher and tutor, as well as in community service. Maria earned her BA in Elementary Education and Early Childhood from Clarion, where she remained to work on her master's degree as a Reading Specialist. She will receive her master's in December 2001.
