LEADERS Year 4 (2002-2003)

The team of literacy educators involved in conducting the LEADERS project serves a variety of schools across Pennsylvania. The overall project is co-directed by Dr. Rita Bean and Dr. Gregory Morris; they also lead the efforts at the site at the University of Pittsburgh. The development of the fourth year of the project led to a collaboration with the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (through a Read Lead Succeed /Project Leaders grant). The University of Pittsburgh, hosts one cohort of schools, and the AIU hosts another. Roseann Javorsky, Andrea Miller James Palmiero, Dyann Panepinto, and Dana Provence lead the effort for the AIU cohort. Dr. Donna Poljanec and Dr. Vicki Harry co-direct the site at the Clarion University of Pennsylvania.

LEADERS Years 1, 2, 3 (1999-2002)

LEADERS was conceived as a unique model for professional development serving schools across the state of Pennsylvania. The team of literacy educators involved in conducting the LEADERS project included Dr. Rita Bean and Dr. Gregory Morris who were the original co-directors of the overall project and led the efforts for the site at the University of Pittsburgh. Mrs. Clair Smith Hornung, and Dr. George Bonekemper direct the site at Muhlenberg College in Allentown. Dr. Donna Poljanec and Dr. Vicki Harry co-direct the site at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. During Year 1 (1999-2000), Dr. Betty Fortner directed the Penn State Capitol Campus site in Harrisburg. Diring Year 1 and Year 2, Ms. Cathy Kim and Dr. Bruce Fischmann directed the site at Muhlenberg College in Allentown.
