Teacher Education Minor

Teacher Education Minor

To help undergraduate students better prepare for graduate work in education, the School of Education has created a 15-credit teacher education minor. This will allow students who plan to enter the Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) or the Masters in Special Education with Academic Instructional Certification (MOSAIC) programs the opportunity to make progress on the prerequisite education courses required for those programs and earn an added credential on their official transcripts.

Interested students can apply by completing and submitting the online form for admission. Students can apply anytime during their undergraduate tenure. Completion of the teacher education minor does not automatically guarantee admission into the MAT or MOSAIC programs, nor does it fulfill all necessary prerequisites.

Students who receive the teacher education minor can apply to earn their master’s degree and teaching certificate and focus on one the following areas of secondary education:
