HPA 0060 - INTRODUCTION TO DANCE

A COMPREHENSIVE OVERVIEW OF DANCE AS AN ART FORM AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, COVERING THE HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY OF DANCE. DANCE WILL BE EXAMINED AS A MEANS OF COMMUNICATION AND EXPRESSION, AND ITS RELATIONSHIP TO OTHER ART FORMS. A PARTICULAR EMPHASIS WILL BE PLACED ON WESTERN DANCE FORMS AND ITS MULTI-CULTURAL ROOTS.
