PSYED 2112 - DEVELP OF EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN

THIS COURSE PROVIDES AN OVERVIEW OF THE FACTORS INVOLVED IN THE PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL AND COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT OF EXCEP TIONAL CHILDREN AND YOUTH. TOPICS INCLUDE ATTITUDES OF PAR ENTS, PROFESSIONALS AND OTHERS TOWARD EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN; SPECIAL PROBLEMS IN THE ASSESSMENT OF EXCEPTIONAL INDIVI DUALS; AND THE UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS OF EXCEPTIONAL CHILD REN WHICH AFFECT NORMAL DEVELOPMENT FROM INFANCY TO ADULT HOOD.
