School Profile

It's a great time to be a part of Pitt's School of Education. Founded nearly 100 years ago, we've evolved into an institution that produces researchers, educators, and administrators of extraordinarily high quality with a unique ability to spot trends in national data and then propose solutions to emerging problems.

Over the past five years, we've strengthened our efforts and impact in four key areas:

  • Improving education for students in urban schools
  • Exploring how public policy influences classroom practice
  • Understanding the factors that enable classroom success
  • Developing obesity prevention and intervention programs

We offer programs in four academic departments:
