Undergraduate Admissions

The School of Education offers two upper-division undergraduate programs undergraduate programs: Applied Developmental Psychology and Health and Physical Activity. Both two-year programs are completed in the junior and senior years, with the exception of the ADP Plus Program which leads to early childhood education or special education certification in the fifth year. Applications for admission to our undergraduate programs are welcomed from candidates who have completed at least 60 undergraduate credits and maintained who maintain the overall QPA required by the program.

The admission process differs depending on whether you are transferring to the School of Education from another School within the University of Pittsburgh, or from outside the University from another institution.

If you are a current Pitt Student, you must go to your Dean's office to complete an Undergraduate Program Change Form, so that your academic records are sent to the School of Education for review. You also must complete a School of Education Undergraduate Application for your program (download application below).

If you are transferring from another college or university, you must apply through the University of Pittsburgh Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, indicating your interest in the School of Education Applied Developmental Psychology Program or Health and Physical Activity Program. You must also complete the supplemental School of Undergraduate Application for ADP or HPA (download application below).

All undergraduate students must apply to the School of Education through the University of Pittsburgh Office of Admissions and Financial Aid. However, our two undergraduate programs also require additional supplemental applications for admission which must be submitted to the School of Education Student Service Center by February of your sophomore year.
