The School of Education has a "rolling admissions" policy which assures that all completed applications will be given regular review for possible admissions. However, priority for admissions and financial aide decisions will be given to those applications that are sent in by the recommended deadlines listed below:
Admission Requirements
- completed School of Education Admissions Application
- a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. A baccalaureate in social science (e.g., child development, education, sociology, psychology, anthropology). Students holding degrees in natural sciences, health care, or liberal arts are also encouraged to apply.
- a QPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale is required. Applicants who fall below this standard may be considered for provisional graduate status if strong supporting evidence of their ability to complete a graduate program is provided.
- prerequisites: 1) courses related to children, youth, and families; 2) social science research methods; 3) direct experience with children, youth, or families.
- official transcripts of all undergraduate work
- a written statement of career goals
- three letters of recommendation
- scores from TOEFL for all applicants whose native language is not English and/or who have not finished academic degree requirements in an English-medium college or university
Fall Application Deadline: March 1 (early submission is encouraged). Applications received after March 1 will be reviewed on a space available basis.
