Research Associate
The NCCST is located in Conshohocken, PA. As a nonprofit corporation and leader in clinical skills performance testing of medical students prior to their graduation from osteopathic medical schools, we are dedicated to advancing excellence in the assessment of candidates working toward medical licensure.
Position:
The NCCST division of the NBOME is seeking qualified candidates for the Research Associate Position in the Psychometrics/Research department. This position will report directly to the Director of this department. The successful applicant should have knowledge of clinical skills assessment using statistics and educational measurement methods with a fundamental understanding of classical test theory and IRT theory.
The salary is competitive in the range of 45 to 50K and commensurate with experience. This is a non-exempt full-time position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to perform data analysis and statistical methods applied to clinical skills testing within an objective structured clinical skills framework.
- Assist with preparing and interpreting score reports.
- Prepare semi and annual written reports and participate in the process of research publications and conferences.
- Assist with collecting data for validity, reliability, and standard setting studies.
- Assist with the development of specifications using psychometric analysis that includes, but is not limited to overseeing calibration, drift, and equating.
Qualifications:
- A Masters degree in statistics, educational measurement, psychology or closely related field. Applicants close to graduation will be considered.
- One to two years of research experience and knowledge and skills using advanced statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, WINSTEPS, HLM, Mplus).
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple priorities.
- Experience in proposal writing, performance based assessment research, and editing for research manuscripts in psychology, education, educational measurement, statistical journals is desirable.
- Experience with standard setting studies is desirable.
