Higher Education Management - Doctor of Education (EdD) Overview

The Doctor of Education program provides both a theoretical and a practical orientation to the management of post-secondary educational organizations. The integration of these skills and knowledge within a philosophical framework of education is designed to provide an educational experience that will facilitate the student's development for future leadership roles.

Upon each student's acceptance into the doctoral program, the faculty reviews the student's previous graduate work and determines the applicability of those credits toward the doctoral program (usually 15-21). Students must take the department core courses and complete the preliminary examination before beginning the required higher education program sequence.
