During this time of unprecidented education reform, the University of Pittsburgh has established the Learning Policy Center (LPC) to advance ideas that lay at the intersection of policy and learning. The LPC is founded on the notion that ambitious policies require professionals at all levels of the education sector - teachers, principals, coaches, district leaders, state and national policymakers - to learn how to think and behave in new and complex ways.

In 2007, the University of Pittsburgh established a Learning Policy Center and a Learning Science and Policy Ph.D. program to advance ideas that lay at the intersection of policy and learning.

The LPC utilizes the rich talent pool of the School of Education, the Learning Research and Development Center, the Institute For Learning and other regional assets to connect high quality learning research with education policy decision-makers.
