The Academy of Child and Youth Care Professionals awarded Karen VanderVen the LifeTime Achievement Award. Karen, a faculty member in the Department of Psychology in Education, has a focus on early childhood plan, professionalization of early childhood and child and youth work, leadership development, the developmental role of activity, practical strategies for activity programming,and intergenerational and life-span practices. She recently published a book Promoting Positive Development in Early Childhood. Building Blocks for A Successful Start (Springer Publications).
