Goals and Domains

In collaboration with human service agencies, build organizational capacity for program improvement and self-evaluation through training, technical assistance, program evaluation, and use of community indicators.

Themes and Projects

Provide interdisciplinary program evaluation services and planning information to community agencies, funders, and policymakers for community social service programs.

Projects

  • Community Program Evaluation, which includes evaluations of Family Support, Early Child Care and Education, Youth Development, and Inclusion Initiatives.
  • Statewide Evaluation Projects
    • The Keystone Stars Program Demonstration Project Evaluation assesses the implementation and effectiveness of Pennsylvania's quality early child care initiative.
    • The Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Evaluation has been designed to assess PTSD treatment program implementation with female juvenile offenders in residential facilities.
  • The Child and Family Welfare Indicators Project maintains a database of publicly collected demographic, health, education, welfare and other statistics pertaining to Allegheny County's children and families.

Work collaboratively with community social service agencies to improve their monitoring and self-evaluation capacity through training and technical assistance.

Projects

  • The Evaluation Technical Assistance Project provides training on Logic Models and Evaluation Design, Data Collection, Survey Design, Focus Groups, Needs Assessments, Data Analysis, and Communication of Findings for community agency staff.
