You and Your Foster Child Parenting Guides
Foster parents not only need to know the basics of raising a child, but also how certain parenting issues may affect a child who has been removed from his or her home and placed in foster care.
You & Your Foster Child is a series of easy-to-use guides written especially for foster parents to provide information and advice on 20 topics that may be encountered while caring for a foster child. These guides are offered free of charge to foster parents, family organizations, agencies, professionals, and others who work with foster children and their families.
Each guide is written by the University of Pittsburgh Office of Child Development based on current parenting literature, and is reviewed by a panel of child development experts and practitioners. The series is made possible by the Frank and Theresa Caplan Fund for Early Childhood Development and Parenting Education.
To view, download, or print the guides below, you will need Adobe Acrobat.
