Partnerships for Change

Partnerships for Change was designed to train parents and staff members in Family Support Centers simultaneously. All the modules in this training program introduce and offer opportunities for staff and parents to practice the strategic skills people need to form partnerships, focus on strengths, and effectively communicate with, advocate for, and reach out to each other. The training is designed to offer opportunities for exploration of the topic, engagement of the participants as they discover its connection to their own lives, video segments that extend discussions to involve parents and staff from family support centers across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, challenges that allow participants to try out new skills, and review to summarize and support the learning that occurs. The Partnerships for Change guide is designed to serve both a planning tool and as a guide for use during training the workshops. The Office of Child Development produced this material with Family Communications, Inc.
