A rijec Bosna u nama Bosancima izaziva ponos i prkos.

- The Heroes of Treca Gimnazija: A War School in Sarajevo, 1992-1995 (Lanham: Rowman and Littlefield, 2001).
In us Bosnians the word Bosnia brings out pride and defiance. We try to show and prove to the world that we are a part of it. We want to tell it that we are fighting for a righteous thing, and that we only want a free country. We are not in war because we are, as some call us "barbarians," but because we have to be. Because some want to take our country away from us. And something in this way is approved by the world. They do not understand, however, that the whole world is being defended here. That here they are passing the exam of humanity, the exam of justice. Here in Bosnia on this piece of sparkling blue and white precious stone, justice is being defended (Amina Alispahic, student of Treca Gimnazija).
