Full Time Faculty - Assistant Professor

Gabriel Stylianides is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education at the University of Pittsburgh. A Fulbright scholar, he received M.Sc. degrees in mathematics and mathematics education, and then his Ph.D. in mathematics education, at the University of Michigan. His research focuses on issues related to the teaching and learning of mathematical reasoning and proof in both school and teacher education settings. He has a special interest in how curriculum materials can design rich opportunities for students to develop proficiency in reasoning and proof, and how teachers can be supported to effectively implement these opportunities in their classrooms.
