Dr. Yeager is currently the Director of the Institute of Higher Education Management and an associate professor in the School of Education at the University of Pittsburgh. Other positions previously held in the School were Chair, Department of Administrative and Policy Studies and Coordinator of the Higher Education Management Program. In addition, he also holds a joint appointment as an associate professor in the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. Prior to his current appointment, he served in multiple administrative positions at the University of Pittsburgh, including-Vice President for Administration, for which he was responsible for the coordination and implementation of all University administrative services, as well as planning and budget functions. In addition, he was Vice President for Operations of the University of Pittsburgh Trust; Vice President of Management and Budgeting; Director of University Planning; Associate Director of Learning Research and Development Center (LRDC). In addition to his teaching, research and service in his specialized areas, he had extensive experience as a consultant for both US and international institutions. He has served as a consultant for both public and private institutions in the area of strategic planning, finance and management, and evaluation for other universities and colleges. Example engagements include the University of West Virginia, the University of Pennsylvania (School of Nursing), Cornell University, Iona College and Pratt Institute, Montgomery College, and Delaware College of Art and Design. Further, Dr. Yeager has consulted and worked in Mongolia, Thailand, China, Indonesia, Bosnia, and Jamaica as well as a number of African countries, and has extensive experience in understanding how cultural influences impact institutional management practices.
