Full Time Faculty - Associate Professor

Steven R. Lyon, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Special Education, Department of Instruction and Learning, School of Education. Dr. Lyon’s area of expertise is the development of school, transition, employment and other community-based services and supports for children, youth and adults with significant cognitive and other disabilities. Over the past 30 years he has conducted personnel training, research and technical assistance aimed at promoting the inclusion and full membership of youth and adults with significant disabilities in community life. His current research interests are the development, evaluation and validation of assessment and instructional practices in science education for students with significant cognitive disabilities.
