Science Education

Scientific ways of knowing are practical and important in a world that is undergoing rapid change through seemingly continuous advances. The science education faculty strives to make the power of science accessible to all. We advocate instructional design that supports a deep understanding of science through a working knowledge of its big ideas and its central disciplinary practices. This concern guides our own teaching, our supervision of graduate students, and our classroom-based research programs.
