Funds from The Heinz Endowments reinforce a public private partnership and allow for innovative, strength-based developments to support the family support movement. OCD's Partnerships for Family Support project supports the goal of having a quality family support system for children and their families that is governed at all levels in collaboration among parents, program staff, and other stakeholders. OCD seeks to accomplish this goal in several ways: 1) by supporting family and caregiver voice through parent leadership and advocacy on issues critical to strengthening families, 2) by helping the infrastructure to design and implement county-wide efforts to provide the best practices and highest quality resources to families, 3) by providing specialized training to increase the knowledge, skills, and confidence of staff who are working with families managing increased challenges and decreased resources.
