University of Pittsburgh School of Education

Kaitlin Yacob

Thank you for your interest in admissions and enrollment for the School of Education! I am excited to join the staff as director of this U.S. News and World Report Top 30 graduate program and am looking forward to guiding the development and implementation of innovative recruitment strategies, marketing plans, and admission policies.

Although I am new to the SOE, I have over 10 years of higher education practice with nearly five years of direct experience in graduate admissions and over three years of leadership experience in undergraduate admissions. I most recently spent four years as the Director of Recruitment and Enrollment at the University of Pittsburgh College of General Studies, developing strategic plans, establishing methods to implement initiatives, measuring outcomes and monitoring progress to achieve enrollment targets for degree, certificate and non-degree undergraduate student populations and over 1,200 students.

Prior to returning to my hometown of Pittsburgh in 2013, I held a series of positions at Arizona State University. After completing my Master’s Degree in Higher and Postsecondary Education at ASU in May of 2007, I managed admissions in the Department of Biomedical Informatics’ (BMI) Ph.D. and M.S. degree programs at ASU from start to finish. I left Arizona State after three years as the Academic Advisor Coordinator for the BMI program at the Mayo Clinic.

As an undergraduate at Virginia Tech, I was a four-year member of the volleyball team, earning Dean’s List and Big East Academic All-Star honors while finishing my bachelor’s degree in human development and human services in 2005. When I am not with my caring and hardworking team at SOE, I enjoy being physically active and spending quality time with my close friends and family. I especially adore creating lasting memories with my loving husband and two, rather spunky, young daughters!
