Science Education Programs
The Science Education programs at the Pitt School of Education prepare you for educational instruction programs that strive to make the power of science accessible to all. We advocate for instructional design that supports a deep understanding of science through the knowledge of its big ideas and central disciplinary practices.
For prospective teachers, there are three program types: the Master of Arts in Teaching with the Pennsylvania Teaching Certification, the Instructional I Teaching Certificate in Science Education, and the Master of Education in Special Education with an Academic Instruction Certification with dual teaching certificates in special education and secondary content (MOSAIC).
For those seeking advanced knowledge, our EdD program in STEM Education (Science, Technology, Education, and Math) will allow you to develop advanced knowledge in the discipline.
