Working Together to Transform Urban Education
Our Center for Urban Education is structured around research, service, and knowledge dissemination. We are focused on community partnerships and engagement, educator development and practice, and student academic and social development. Our faculty are racially conscious scholars who are trained to have an acute focus on the multifacted issues facing education systems in our nation's schools and community centers. They are proud to create impactful research that improves educational opportunities, particularly in the Pittsburgh area.
Our Center for Urban Education is meant to be a space of learning and sharing with urban schools and communities to positively transform educational opportunities and experiences.
Our Center for Urban Education is extremely active in programs and activities that connect educators, students, policy makers, and community members. These include school district partnerships with Pittsburgh Public Schools, the #CUETalks Lecture Series, the Visiting Scholars Series, the CUE Summer Educator Forum, the Heinz Fellows program, and a tutoring and mentoring program.
