American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education Book of the Year Award

The American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE) awards the "Book of the Year Award" annually to one author of a foundational book informing Hispanic higher education. Dr. Gina A. Garcia recevied this honor in 2020 for the book "Becoming Hispanic Serving Institution: Opportunities for Colleges and Universities."

ASHE CEP Mildred Garcia Award for Exemplary Scholarship (Junior)

This award recognizes one junior, nontenured scholar-practitioner (e.g., visiting assistant professor, clinical assistant professor, or tenure-track faculty) and one senior practitioner-scholar (i.e., tenured associate or full professor, senior/executive administrator) for seminal, exemplary scholarship that focuses on research and issues specifically related to underrepresented populations of color.

National Academy of Education/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship

The National Academy of Education/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship Program supports early career scholars working in critical areas of education research. This nonresidential postdoctoral fellowship funds proposals that make significant scholarly contributions to the field of education. The program also develops the careers of its recipients through professional development activities involving National Academy of Education members.

Ford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship
