As a faculty member in the Department of Health and Physical Activity, I focus much of my time on helping students to develop their ability to be leaders in the area of health, fitness, and wellness. I coordinate the Aerobics Minor Program, which provides students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be competent fitness professionals. Some students choose to make fitness a primary career, while others have used the Aerobics Minor to enhance their primary area of study. I have been a member of the University of Pittsburgh community since 2001 when I began as an undergraduate student. I continued here for my Master's degree and am currently a doctoral candidate for a Ph.D. in Higher Education Management. My research interests include examining the social benefits of physical activity and recreation center usage in students.
