Dr. Srsic is a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor of Special Education. She received her doctoral training at The George Washington University and has a variety of experience working with students with disabilities, with particular focus on working with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD). Coming from a background in both general and special education, Dr. Srsic’s role encompasses the coordination of special education teacher certification programs in addition to training general educators to work effectively with students with disabilities who are included in their classrooms. Dr. Srsic’s research interests have concentrated on the use of gender-responsive programming for girls with EBD, academic achievement of students with EBD, learning disabilities, and intellectual disabilities, in addition to understanding the perceptions and needs of those who work with and care for females with EBD.

Working with HECSE provides opportunity to dialogue with national leaders in both houses of the Congress of the United States, in federal agencies that oversee research and training programs related to education and human services, and in professional organizations and advocacy groups that focus on topics and issues in special education and disability services.
