  • Pittsburgh Area Social Studies Partnership of Responsive Teachers (PASSPORT) (August 2017 - May 2019). Role: PI; Funding Agency: McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation; Amount: $30,000.
  • Symbolic Imagery in the Histories of Russia and the United States: A Historiography Workshop for Pre-service Social Studies Teachers (October 2017). Role: PI; Funding Agency: Center for Russian and Eastern European Studies (CREES); Amount: $1,300.
  • Sociology for Social Studies Fall Workshop. (August 2014 - July 2015) Role: Co-Principal Investigator (with Sean Kelly, Department of Administration & Policy Studies); Funding Agency: American Sociological Association (ASA); Amount: $7,000

    This grant was used to fund an in-service, credit-bearing professional development workshop for secondary social studies teachers in Western Pennsylvania in November 2014. Participants (n=25) networked with and learned from university sociology scholars from around the region to enhance their coverage of sociology concepts and content in the high school classroom.

    Funds from this grant are being used to host an international conference for of the Alliance for Learning in World History here on the University of Pittsbugh campus, May 7-9, 2015. I am a Co-PI on the grant.
