Through this developmental program, children participate in a variety of age-appropriate activities with a focus on progressive skill instruction.
The program uses all areas of Trees Hall including the rock wall and the Olympic-size swimming pool. We also use the small pool in the back of the Olympic pool as well.

CLL Adaptive Swim Program (Spring 2025)

The Pitt’s Kids Adaptive Swim Program was specifically designed to benefit and support children of all ages with a range of disabilities and needs. Our goal is to help each swimmer overcome any challenges they may face in the water, regardless of prior swim experience, in a 1:1 instruction ratio. Our top priorities are for each child to become comfortable in the water, learn water safety, increase physical activity, and – of course – to have fun!

Learn to Swim (Spring 2025)
Do you want your child to learn to swim before the summer comes? Want your child to learn to be safe in the pool? Join the learn to swim 3-week program offered by the Community Leisure Learn Department in Trees Hall. Come explore the beautiful pool here at Pitt and learn to swim. These lessons are for ages 5 – 15 years old. The program will run from May 27th – June 12, every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30pm-6:30pm.
Registration will open on May 1st and is only available for 15 kids! The registration will become here available at that time. All registration forms will need to be submitted to the cllprog@pitt.edu email account prior to May 23rd.

Summer Camp 2025 Information
For children aged 5-13, our morning programming features a variety of engaging activities tailored to different age groups, including games in the pool, team sports, rock climbing, scavenger hunts, STEM activities, and more! After a fun morning session, each child will enjoy lunch at Sutherland Hall. The afternoon sessions will include traditional Pitt’s Kids activities, featuring swimming lessons and gym activities for all kids.
We are offering a new Counselor in Training (CIT) program for ages 14-16, where CIT participants gain valuable mentoring experience by connecting with campers and enhancing their skills through specialized instruction in swimming and gym activities. Each day consists of 50 minutes of physical activity followed by 50 minutes of aquatic instruction, providing a well-rounded experience in both the gym and pool.
