Program Start Dates

Bachelor’s degree and undergraduate minor programs can begin in the fall, spring, or summer, depending on the program

How to Apply

Submit your online application based on whether you are a first-year Pitt student, current Pitt student, or external transfer student.

Upper-Level School

School of Education students must first complete their required prerequisites in the Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences before transferring into our programs.

Admission Guidelines for Undergraduates

  1. Submit an application as a first-year student through Pitt’s Office of Admissions and Financial Aid.
  2. You will select a program from the School of Education as your intended major.
  3. You will begin in Pitt’s Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences to take your required prerequisites.
  4. Tell your academic advisor that you plan on matriculating into one of the Pitt Education undergraduate programs, which will occur during your junior year.

In the spring of your sophomore year, you will be eligible to submit a supplemental application to join the School of Education.

Undergraduate Degree Application:
  1. Completion of Prerequisite Coursework and Credits
    • 48 credits – All programs
  2. Minimum GPA requirements:
    • 3.0 GPA for BS in Teacher Education and the Combined Applied Studies in Education (CASE) 4+1 Program
    • 2.5 GPA for BS in Applied Developmental Psychology and Exercise Science
