During the School of Education’s orientation, incoming undergraduate and graduate students will:

  • Be introduced to school leaders, student services staff, and faculty leaders
  • Receive information on the School of Education mission-vision, student/career resources, and other essential items
  • Engage in morning and afternoon breakout sessions for some program areas (see below for program-specific breakout sessions)
  • Receive free giveaways of school merchandise, including T-shirts!

Participation at orientation is expected. If there is an extenuating circumstance that prevents you from attending, please reach out to educ@pitt.edu to discuss your situation.

Program-specific Breakout Sessions

Breakout sessions are an opportunity for students to build community with their peers, learn more specific information about their program of study, and hear directly from faculty about their expectations from the 2025-2026 academic year.

Parking and Transportation

  1. Pittsburgh Regional Transit

    • Students can ride the Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) to campus for free on the day of orientation. To find schedules, visit the PRT Schedule Finder website.
