A graduating female student from the School of Education

Congratulations on Your Graduation from Pitt Education

Graduation is your culminating achievement as a student. At the Pitt School of Education, our graduation cycle occurs during the fall, spring, and summer terms. We hold celebratory ceremonies twice a year to officially welcome you to the alumni ranks.

Please view the information below on our graduation schedule and policies.

Graduation Instructions

  • Graduation is not an automatic process. You must complete the Graduation Application Form before the deadline date.
  • Upon review and final approval by the Office of Student Services and your advisor, your graduation is authorized and your diploma is ordered. You must be in good financial standing with the University to receive your diploma.
  • Diplomas are mailed by the Office of the Registrar about six to eight weeks after the end of the term of graduation.
  • You will receive information about the commencement ceremonies via mail and/or email approximately one month before the ceremony.
  • The name you indicate on your graduation application must match exactly the way it appears in the University's student information system (PeopleSoft).
  • If for any reason you are unable to graduate in the term for which you applied, you must submit a new graduation application for a future term. Students are not automatically rolled over onto future graduation rosters.
  • Late graduation applications may incur a fee.

Individuals who submit graduation applications after the deadline are not guaranteed to have their name included in the event program.
