Teacher Certification

What is teacher certification?

Whether your career goals are teaching French to sixth graders, transforming local public schools, developing curricula and activities for special needs students, or one of many other education options, the School of Education offers a vast number of teaching certificates to meet your needs. Our courses embody an essential combination of research and clinical-based instruction, providing you with up-to-date knowledge and on-the-job experience that will lead to your success as a professional educator. And our faculty lead these courses based on in-the-field research and expert instructional practices.

The Instructional I Certificates, listed below, are the initial teaching certificates in a specific area and are valid for a designated number of service years, during which specific requirements must be completed.

In addition, we also offer Administrative and Professional Certificates, which are additional degrees beyond the initial teaching certificate. See a list of these certificates.
