Pitt Education Named Top Education School Nationally
The University of Pittsburgh School of Education climbed two spots in U.S. News & World Report’s newly released 2023 Best Education Schools rankings.
Pitt Education is now ranked No. 32 in the United States among all schools. Last year, the school was ranked No. 34 overall. The school also went from being unranked in the category of educational psychology to reaching No. 17.
In Western Pennsylvania, the school continues to be the No. 1 ranked education school.
In the category of public institutions, which is based on independent analysis by Pitt Education, the school remained ranked No. 1 in Pennsylvania and No. 23 in the country.
“Being named among the nation’s top schools of education affirms our commitment to ignite learning and strive for well-being for all,” says Valerie Kinloch, the Renée and Richard Goldman Endowed Dean and professor of the Pitt School of Education. “We are proud to provide high-quality, transformative learning experiences for our undergraduate, graduate, and professional students that inspire them to innovate, agitate, and lead with integrity.”
The annual U.S. News ranking is based on an evaluation of hundreds of education schools across the United States. The ranking methodology has four categories: quality assessment, research activity, student selectivity, and faculty resources.
