School of Education Dean and Associate Professor Honored with Larry E. Davis Awards
Eboni Zamani-Gallaher and Lori Delale O’Connor honored for their scholarship and mentoring.
Two members of the School of Education faculty are among the distinguished recipients of the University of PIttsburgh 2025 Dr. Larry E. Davis Award.
Presented by the Office of the Provost’s Office of Faculty Advancement and Leadership Development, the awards are given across seven categories.
Eboni M. Zamani-Gallaher, Renée and Richard Goldman Dean and professor, is the recipient of the Academic Excellence Award, underscoring her contributions to scholarship and leadership at the University of Pittsburgh.
Lori Delale-O’Connor, associate professor and interim director of the Center for Urban Education, received the Excellence in Faculty Mentoring Award, recognizing her contributions and commitment to the advancement of junior faculty, post-doctoral, and graduate students. Delale-O’Connor also serves as chair of the Department of Educational Foundations, Organizations and Policy at the School of Education.
The Dr. Larry E. Davis Awards will honor recipients at an award dinner on November 6 at the Heinz History Center.
The awards recognize the legacy of the late Dean Emeritus Larry E. Davis, the former Dean of the Pitt School of Social Work and founding director of the Center on Race and Social Problems.
