Exercise is Movement on Campus yoga flow

Making physical activity accessible, enjoyable, and sustainable for every member of the Pitt community.

The University of Pittsburgh School of Education is one of approximately 200 colleges and universities nationwide registered as a partner in the American College of Sports Medicine’s (ACSM) Exercise is Medicine On Campus (EIM-OC) program. Officially launched at Pitt in January 2025, this initiative recognizes physical activity as a vital sign of health.

The mission is simple: make physical activity accessible, enjoyable, and sustainable for everyone at Pitt. Whether you’re looking to build confidence in fitness, relieve stress, or simply move more throughout your day, EIM-OC has programming to fit your needs.

Group Fitness Events

Join our recurring exercise sessions held throughout the semester:

  • Yoga
  • Pilates
  • Running/Walking Groups
  • Strength Training
  • High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
  • And other fitness modalities

Sessions are led by qualified exercise science students and held at convenient campus locations, including the University Club Fitness Center.

Personalized Training & Wellness Partnerships

The EIM-OC at Pitt program collaborates with Pitt’s Student Health Services and Counseling Center to offer integrated wellness programming. This new referral network connects students with our team for personalized support in incorporating more physical activity into daily life.

We create individualized workout programs tailored to your fitness level, goals, and schedule.
